Hey Lila! Well continuing from my post yesterday,

I think the reason why is is so highly ranked on Trip advisor it’s because it is something not everyone gets to experience in their home country or anywhere else in Singapore , there are so many things to do there and so much to see. Plus they cater to a wide range of visitors from families, to couples to elderly people and a few more, also its really easy to get there just take the Circle Line MRT to Botanic Gardens and your there already and Botanic Gardens is in quite in a strategic area being only a 15 minutes bus ride from the town area so if the tourist have nothing to do or want to do some exercise they can simply take a bus down and go to the Botanic Gardens to kill some time. Furthermore, as I mentioned earlier there is so much beauty to be seen in the Gardens, so many flowers and plants you don’t ever get to see around Singapore or other parts of the world. I think they have also done a pretty good job of promoting themselves to the public, what draws people there is the uniqueness of this place and its natural beauty that you hardly ever find anywhere else.
Its so huge with so much that people can do what they want to do like jogging, bringing the family out on a picnic, taking their dogs out for a run and doing exercises
They also do a good job in educating the visitors as they have different signs showing what kind of plants as well as their scientific names connecting the people by allowing them to touch and feel the plants, in the children playground they have a section they have something similar and its even equipped with classroom facilities for the children to learn as well. Plus it’s the only park in the world to open from 5am to 12 midnight so you can come almost whenever you like for a stroll

What makes this attraction better than like other gardnes and attractions like shopping malls is that it caters to a wider target market and that anyone rich or poor can go there to enjoy its facilities plus its much bigger than any other gardens and has a wider range of flowers and plants and a bigger area for more people to come and do their recreational activities here . And I do believe it is sucessful in promoting itself as it has thier ties with the Goverment which promote them and they try to gain publicity via media coverage by hosting important visitors like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as well as being nominated as an UNESCO world heritage site

But the Botanic Gardens has their impacts on Singapore too, like for the economic impact since this place does not charge any admission fees, they rely solely on the sales of food and drinks and souvenirs to maintain the place and pay for the cleaners . There is also the Environmental Impact which is more of the impact of visitors on attraction, if too many people come to the Gardens it will be more difficult to maintain the place like there might be more people littering or throwing the rubbish into the pond or plucking the flowers and destroying the plants there or they might need to destroy or get rid of some of the gardens to make room for more car parks . There is also the socio culture impact of the gardens since most people come here to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the place as well as to get rid of the crowds at the shopping malls, if too many people come to the garden it might ruin the experience of other visitors as well as the peacefulness of the place.

Yawn, it’s getting late here Lila I shall continue to blog more and update you another time! :)
